Who will drive their way to becoming the ‘Industry Mood Maker’?

Operating a forklift requires precision, awareness and, above all, a focus on safety. But what happens when you add a generous dose of flair and atmosphere? During Transport & Logistics 2026 in Ghent, forklift drivers will have the chance to show what they can do in ‘Komen Rijden’, a new competition with a playful nod to the well-known television programme Komen Eten.

For this initiative, event organiser Easyfairs, Atrium Opleidingen and TVH Equipment are joining forces. Together, they are looking for skilled forklift drivers who combine technical control with enthusiasm and personality. The prize? The title of ‘Industry Mood Maker’.

Safely and skilfully through the course

During Komen Rijden, participants will complete a challenging course on the event floor using forklifts supplied by TVH Equipment. Speed alone will not be enough. Technical skill and safe driving behaviour will also play an important part in the assessment.

Atrium Opleidingen will be responsible for the professional judging and will safeguard the competition’s focus on safety. In this way, an important message is presented in a playful format: good forklift work is not only about moving a load from A to B, but also about control, precision and safe conduct.

And, just as in Komen Eten, more than technical performance alone counts. Candidates will also have the opportunity to show their personality. Flair, hospitality and, above all, the atmosphere they create around their participation will help determine who ultimately takes home the title.

Professional skill with a generous dose of atmosphere

With Komen Rijden, Easyfairs, Atrium Opleidingen and TVH Equipment are putting the people behind logistics operations in the spotlight. Forklift drivers play an important role every day in warehouses and logistics environments. At Transport & Logistics, they will be given a literal stage to demonstrate their professional skills.

The Komen Rijden zone brings competition, safety and experience together on the event floor. Visitors can cheer on the participants and discover who best combines precision, safe driving behaviour and atmosphere.

Would you like to take part? Registration for forklift drivers is now open. More information about participation and the competition rules is available from the organising team.
